The Chair of East Asian Economy and Society (EcoS) at the University of Vienna is seeking a motivated and organized Student Assistant to join our team for the upcoming semester. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain insight into academic administration, research support, and event management within an international environment.
Position Overview
- Start Date: March 9, 2026
- Extent of Employment: 4 hours/week
- Duration: One semester (with the possibility of extension)
- Location: Department of East Asian Studies, University of Vienna
- Renumeration: According to Verwendungsgruppe C of the Collective Bargaining Agreement of the University of Vienna
Your Responsibilities
As a tutor, you will provide vital support to the EcoS staff across several areas:
- Assisting staff with organizational tasks and course management.
- Maintaining and updating the EcoS website.
- Supporting the planning, promotion, and implementation of departmental events and guest lectures.
- Assisting with the technical and organizational aspects of EcoS courses.
Your Profile
- Enrolled in the MA East Asian Economy and Society (EcoS) program for the Summer Semester 2026.
- Excellent command of English (written and oral). Proficiency in German is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with EcoS’ online presence. Previous experience with TYPO3 is considered a strong asset.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
