The CTL is looking for writing mentors for their upcoming courses in SS2023

11.01.2023

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) of the University of Vienna is looking for students who would be interested in becoming writing mentors for their workshops.

What is writing mentoring?

Writing mentoring supports students as early as possible in their bachelor studies in academic writing, especially in group settings, but also in individual settings. In addition to teaching writing, reading, and (peer) feedback and revision strategies, students are encouraged to reflect on their writing skills.

What do writing mentors do?

Writing mentors work in teams of two to organize weekly writing groups (1.5 hours) that guide students at various institutes of the University of Vienna in their academic writing process. If required, they offer writing advice to mentees who have participated in the writing group (max. 1x/week) and are allowed to conduct a writing didactics pop-up in a course once a semester. Details about the call for proposals can be found as a PDF on our homepage under Information for Students.

  • The deadline to apply as a writing mentor has been extended until Monday, January 16, 2023.

If you are interested, you can find out more information about this call for applications in the CTL's official announcement. The details for the job description are in German language.
