Prof. Rüdiger Frank participated in an expert discussion on North Korea and nuclear security hosted by the Perth USAsia Centre.

On March 27, 2024, the Perth USAsia Centre facilitated a discussion on "North Korea and Nuclear Security," featuring insights from Professor Gordon Flake, Professor Rüdiger Frank, and Jasmin Diab CSC.

The event addressed North Korea's recent actions, including a new weapons agreement with Russia, missile and drone tests, and the significant removal of reunification with South Korea from its constitution. The discussants provided an analysis of North Korea's strategic departure from global norms and its implications for nuclear non-proliferation.

The discussion emphasized the importance of Australia's continued advocacy for non-proliferation and robust nuclear oversight in the region amidst growing regional security concerns.
